Welcome to Violet Vintage, the online boutique for beautiful and accessible vintage jewellery.
It’s a wonderful thing to while away a lost afternoon, mooching your way around a vintage fair, a hidden antique centre or a treasure trove of a market looking for that perfect gift or piece of antique jewellery. Unfortunately, you might not always be able to get there, so we’ve had all the fun and done the mooching for you! The benefit is that you get access to a fine collection of lovely, quality pieces at an accessible place and price, which have been curated from the best vintage jewellery on offer in the UK and beyond.
Our expert buyers trawl antique centres, fairs, shops, markets and auctions in the UK, Paris and occasionally further afield to hunt down the loveliest gifts and special pieces, and negotiate a strong trade discount for these, so that we can offer great prices to you. These items are then either reworked into a more contemporary setting, or simply polished up if perfect as they are. We also stock a more accessible range of ‘New Vintage’ jewellery – a limited edition collection of new pieces which are vintage-inspired in style.
Originals
Our Violet Vintage ORIGINALS collection contains great examples of vintage and antique jewellery pieces which have been curated for their beauty, fine craftsmanship and unique style which holds contemporary appeal. We broadly collect antique and vintage jewellery from the late Georgian era to the1970s, but specialise in good quality, interesting pieces from the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco periods – with a particular love of gold lockets, charm jewellery and pendants from the Victorian era and pretty rings from the1920s and 1930s.
In curating pieces for the collection, we select items not only for their exquisite beauty, but for their contemporary appeal and versatility to work with a modern wardrobe. Much of Violet Vintage can be worn as a signature piece – working to elevate both your everyday outfits and eveningwear.
Reworked
Our Reworked collection consists of a number of pieces of vintage jewellery that have been redesigned and reworked into more contemporary settings – such as Victorian brooches reworked into unique necklaces, and charms re-hung as pendants or multi-strand necklaces. Each piece is designed in our London studio and handmade by an artisan jeweller in Lincoln.
New Vintage
Violet ‘New Vintage’ is a more accessible range of limited edition ‘New Vintage’ pieces, which are vintage-inspired in style, but newly made from semi-precious metals and stones (largely sterling silver and gold-plated metals) or everyday base metals. Again, we have curated a range of the best cool, everyday ‘vintage look’ jewellery which makes great gifts or trend pieces for you, at excellent prices.
Presentation
All items come exquisitely boxed in our signature Violet Vintage packaging, and if you’re buying as a present can be sent guaranteed to arrive the next day, prettily gift wrapped with a handwritten card containing your personal message . Returns
For total peace of mind, in the highly unlikely event that your purchase or present isn’t exactly to suit, we will give you a full refund, exchange the item or offer you or your recipient one of our hand stamped metal gift tokens, whichever you’d prefer.
