Finer Details

The ring is in excellent vintage condition although if you look carefully at the underside of the band at the bottom you can see a hairline crack on the ring, where the ring would have been re-seized at some point. This isn't seen at all when worn and is very minor.

Citrine has been popular for thousands of years and used to be revered for its rarity, though that has changed with time as modern Citrine is more plentiful. The ancient Romans used it for beautiful jewellery and intaglio work. It was also very popular in the 19th century. During the Art Deco period, large citrines were set in many prized pieces, including the famous and elaborate pieces commissioned by Greta Garbo.

Citrine is the birthstone for the month of November, and used to celebrate the 13th year of marriage.
