Beautiful solid 9ct gold full eternity band set with brilliant cut white spinel stones. This lovely ring is hallmarked London 1958, and Y&B for the maker's mark. The spacing between each stone features a raised design which prettily enhances the sparkle. Weighs 3.0g. A lovely, simple but striking piece. Traditionally, Spinels are associated with love, and help the wearer to put their ego aside (!) and become devoted to another person. The Spinel also encourages passion and is said to increase the duration of one's life. A fabulous gift.

Finer Details

Spinel is a naturally occuring gemstone which has long been used in jewellery and comes in a range of colours. Most popularly seen in red, it has long been used in the place of rubies - in fact it was only when gemologists began to identify gemstones by X-rays that they realised a lot of old rubies were actually in fact spinels. Many royal crown jewels thought to contain rubies that have actually turned out be Spinels - the Black Prince's Ruby in the British Imperial State Crown is a actually a 170 Carat red Spinel. The most rare white Spinel - The Great White Spinel of Kandy - has been missing from the French Court in the mid 1800s, and is worth over £1m, so keep your eye out...
