Absolutely beautiful Edwardian gilded silver brooch which we have reworked into a more contemporary necklace setting. This fine antique piece has been carefully hand made from silver, with a thick covering of 9ct gold on the swallow, heart and flower detailing. This brooch is fully hallmarked for 1906, and has the makers mark S Bros (see details below). It would make a wonderful gift for a loved one, as contains many popular themes denoting everlasting love from the sentimental Edwardian era - the swallow, the forget-me-not, and conjoined love hearts. An exquisite, unique piece.

The full length of the necklace is 17.5", and the brooch piece measures 49mm in length.

Finer Details

This lovely necklace is in great antique condition, and the hand etched detailing is marvellous. It was make by the Sydenham Brothers, a well regarded jewellers in the famous Birmingham jewellery quarter, who were based in Tenby Street. They operated from 1880s to the early 1900s, and this is a great example of their work. We have reworked it using a split 16" silver belcher chain, inkeeping with the antique style of the piece, and so the Reworked length is a good 17.5", leaving the piece hanging just below the collarbone in the perfect position to admire.
