Beautiful Victorian fully hallmarked 9ct gold sentimental love and luck brooch which we've reworked into a more contemporary necklace setting. The fabulous original brooch is a classic Victorian/Edwardian (dating from the cusp year - 1901) love and luck brooch, with detailing picked out on antique yellow gold in pretty rose gold, to give a delicate contrast. This beautiful and intricate design is truly unique, with an embellished bar featuring the traditional love and good luck symbols of ivy, rose and forget-me-not, and horseshoe. Ivy was commonly used to symbolise fidelity and everlasting love, the rose true love and the forget me not (romantic love), plus the horseshoe for luck. This might have been a romantic token, or one made for a wedding. It looks fabulous as a necklace, and has been hung on a split 16" 9ct gold belcher chain, to give a nice length of 17.5", sitting just above the collarbone. Fully hallmarked for Chester, the year 1901. A lovely gift or truly special signature piece.

The original brooch section measures c4cm, and is hung on a split 16" chain to give a total length of c17.5"
