Edwardian 1905 ‘Beatrice’ Silver Reworked Sweetheart Forget-Me-Not Necklace
Beautiful Edwardian Sterling Silver sentimental ‘Beatrice’ name brooch, fully hallmarked for 1905, which we've reworked into a unique necklace for a real signature piece. ‘Beatice’ is engraved in an elegant, simple font which has been hand etched with pretty floral ‘Forget-Me-Not’ detailing on the lozenge name plate. The chain we have used is a modern sterling silver 16” belcher chain, making the necklace in total just under 18 inches, as the name plate measures c44mm in width (x 18mm in height).
We use this size chain so that the name sits beautifully against the clavicle, drawing attention to your décolletage. In the Victorian and Edwardian times these brooches were popular gifts for loved ones, known as ‘Sweetheart’ Brooches and also occasionally used in aristocratic houses for servants!
The original brooch is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1905, and has the Maker’s Mark of L for Louis Adler - a prominent master bench jeweller from the area.
This unique and attractive name necklace has a wonderful history but real contemporary appeal, making a truly special gift for a truly special Beatrice!
As with all of our items, this comes boxed in our signature Violet Vintage box and packaging, and can be further gift wrapped with our wax seal and a hand written card.
