Vintage Lucky Solid Gold and Green Agate Clover Pendant, 1969
Beautiful and unusual vintage pendant, fully hallmarked for 9ct Gold, London 1969. This gorgeous lucky clover pendant is made from solid 9ct gold and green natural agate. The gold to the back has been intricately and attractively etched by hand, to give three heart motifs within the design, also meaning you have 2 looks to this - a gold etched heart + clover pendant or the green agate side, offering extra versatility.
Green agate has been used for centuries in jewellery to symbolise emotional balance, harmony, and renewal. This soothing green gemstone is worn to attract abundance, release stress, and encourage courage. It is also linked to the heart chakra and serves as an alternative birthstone for May.
The characteristic banding that makes each agate stone unique is formed by the slow cooling and crystallisation of quartz and other minerals in volcanic cavities. In green agate, traces of chromium or iron are often responsible for the intense colouring and make it particularly desirable.
This listing and price is for the pendant alone, which can be easily hung on an existing chain.
