Vintage Ciro Pearl Necklace with Elegant Amber and Diamanté Centrepiece
Elegant and striking vintage c1960s Ciro quality simulated pearl necklace with a striking diamanté and amber and citrine coloured glass centrepiece lozenge. This beautiful ‘princess length’ necklace is c16” and hangs with a delicate sparkle at the base of the neck. Fastens with a push clasp into a gold coloured etched bead fastening. Pearl jewellery has long been worn to symbolise purity, innocence, and high status. A lovely piece which looks hugely expensive! In great vintage condition.
Founded in London in 1917, Ciro Jewellery became famous for pioneering high-quality simulated glass and shell pearls as an accessible alternative to expensive real pearls, though they also retailed higher-end cultured pearls and precious metals over the decades. This necklace is a wonderful example of one of their luxurious costume designs, dating to around 1966. We always love pearls, but they have recently become very much in vogue, according to Vogue itself, with everyone from Harry Styles (with T shirts and jumpers!) to Kendall Jenner (super glam at the Met Gala!) wearing pearls to add character to their look.
As with all of our items, this necklace arrives in our signature Violet Vintage box and packaging. All items can be sent with a free hand written card with your desired message - just select ‘Gift Message’ as you check out. Items can be further gift wrapped with a choice of tissue paper and our wax seal for an additional £5.
