Edwardian 9ct Gold, Diamond and Emerald Leopard Ring, 1904
Super cool Antique 9ct Gold & Silver Leopard / Panther ring, pavé-set with 17 antique emeralds and 1 small diamond in a fabulous Edwardian ring. This rare and elegant piece is fully Hallmarked for 9ct Gold, Birmingham 1904, with the Maker’s Mark LA. LA denotes Louis Adler - a fine jeweller creating luxury pieces in Edwardian times. The diamond and emeralds are c1 - 2mm in diameter.
The Leopard design to the top of the ring is set within a diamond textured silver, giving the whole top of the ring the look of fully pavé-set diamonds and emeralds. Very striking and in great condition for its age, with beautiful colours to the emeralds and ring overall.
Multi-gem animal-motif rings (such as leopard or panther designs set with emeralds and diamonds) were hugely popular in Edwardian fine jewellery, and this style was really picked up in 1914 when Cartier began to use the panther as a signature motif within their designs. The Leopard and Panther remain perennially cool in jewellery.
Glamorous enough for a cocktail ring, and yet comfortable enough for everyday wear, this ring offers a wonderful and unique signature piece.
